Cover Puppies (7) - Rainbow Rowell Double Feature!!

Thursday, February 20, 2014

Cover Puppies is a weekly post here on Pivot Book Reviews, where I combine my extreme love for my doggies and YA books, and recreate my favorite book covers!

This week, I am featuring...

(Gentry)

Fangirl  by Rainbow Rowell

AND..

(Dixie)

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell!

That's right, ladies and gents! Another double feature this week!! WOOT!

I'm not going to post both synopsis(es?) of Fangirl and Eleanor & Park, because I'm pretty sure the majority of you have seen them around, but just in case I'm wrong (heaven forbid!), then you can click on the title of either and be directed to their goodreads pages!

**

These have to be some of my favorites. It might be hard to tell, but the reason the colors are sort of off is because I drew Cover Puppies this week, and my camera just can't seem to match the colors right! But guys, oh my gosh, they were SO MUCH FUN to make!!! I haven't drawn in like a year. I'm pretty sure it's been around a year, because the last time I drew something it was for He Who Shall Not Be Named and that was around a year ago. Anyyyywayyyssss.... I was originally going to just do Fangirl, BUT I forgot how much fun I have when I start drawing. Then, I saw how awesome Fangirl turned out and I decided I needed to do another right away! Along came Eleanor and Park! Honestly, I'm not sure which I love more! I think I'm pretty partial to Fangirl's though, because Levi.... *le sigh* But Cover Puppies was a change of pace this week, and I enjoyed every second of it! I enjoyed it so much, my drawings are going to be framed and hung on the wall in my office! I'm off to do just that!

Did you like this feature?

  1. OMG those turn out SO good!! You definitely should keep drawing and not go another whole year because you definitely got some talent there! You nailed those fonts like perfectly to the point on E&P I couldn't tell if you drew that part or not. Really cool idea to draw instead of Photoshop this week... oh and of course I love Levi too!!!

  11. Oh my your dogs are adorable, what breeds are they? My guess is Gentry is a Rough Collie or Shetland sheep dog and Dixie is a Border Collie? :)

And wow your drawings are fantastic! How long did they take? I can't wait to see what you do next week :)

    1. Aw!! Thanks Elle! Gentry is a Shetland sheep dog, yes! But Dixie is kind of deceiving with her coloring. She is actually an Australian Shepherd! :)

Aw thank you!! It actually just took me a few hours! But I want to draw so many more now!! They turned out way better than I expected them to! :)
