Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine, where you can spotlight an upcoming release you're eagerly anticipating!
This week I'm waiting on:
Lying Out Loud by Kody Keplinger
Releases on: April 28th, 2015 ADD IT TO GOODREADS!
From Goodreads: Kody Keplinger returns to the world of The DUFF in this brand-new companion novel!
Sonny Ardmore is an excellent liar. She lies about her dad being in prison. She lies about her mom kicking her out. And she lies about sneaking into her best friend's house every night because she has nowhere else to go.
Amy Rush might be the only person Sonny shares everything with-- secrets, clothes, even a nemesis named Ryder Cross.
Ryder's the new kid at Hamilton High and everything Sonny and Amy can't stand-- a prep-school snob. But Ryder has a weakness: Amy. So when Ryder emails Amy asking her out, the friends see it as a prank opportunity not to be missed.
But without meaning to, Sonny ends up talking to Ryder all night online. And to her horror, she realizes that she might actually like him. Only there's one small catch: he thinks he's been talking to Amy. So Sonny comes up with an elaborate scheme to help Ryder realize that she's the girl he's really wanted all along. Can Sonny lie her way to the truth, or will all her lies end up costing her both Ryder and Amy?

Why I'm Waiting:
1. DAT COVER.
2. I adored The Duff. I'm so stoked that this is a companion novel, and I'm praying that we will see Bianca and Wesley in it!!!
3. This sounds like an episode of catfish, which is an addicting show.
What do you think of Lying Out Loud?
Excited for it? Meh about it?
Let's discuss!
Sounds like a very fun contemporary! I am actually reading thr DUFF next month for my book club!
ReplyDeleteGreat pick, Becca!

Eh, I'm kind of on the fence about this one. I did really really enjoy The DUFF but the blurb for Lying Out Loud isn't really drawing me in. I think I need to reread The DUFF before this one releases because then I'll be really stoked for this :) But yes, the cover is awesome! Great pick :)

Great pick Becca :D Seems like an interesting book ;p Not my type, but maybe one day :D Have heard of many loving The Duff :) Hope you'll love this sweetie. <3
ReplyDeleteI was actually pretty annoyed with The DUFF when I read it - probably because Bianca was a bit of a hypocrite and took SO LONG to see the light aka Wesley - but I did love the characters, and hope to see them in this companion novel as well! Plus the synopsis to this book sounds really interesting, and I'd love to see how it all plays out!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm also dying because I want to watch The DUFF (the movie), but I still haven't gotten the chance D:
