Bookish Banter (11) - Rereading Books

Monday, April 7, 2014

Welcome, welcome to Bookish Banter! This is a weekly blog post where I talk about bookish topics with Elizabeth of Redhead Reader and Ellen of Pottermorebooks!

This week's discussion is...

Do you re-read books?

My answer...

Until very recently, I never re-read books.

The factors behind that reason are...

1. I have TWO bookshelves of unread books. TWO. I just don't have time to reread books when I have that many waiting to be read for the first time.

Wow. I really thought I'd have more reasons than that, but really. I have a book buying problem. I buy books like nobody's business.

BUT.. (there's always a but, right?)

I did reread Divergent and Insurgent before Allegiant came out, and I actually just reread The Fault In Our Stars over the weekend, because I needed a refresher with the movie coming out soon. So I guess I just really have to be in the mood to reread something. A mood bothering me enough that I don't feel bad about all the neglected books on my TBR shelves.

What about YOU?
Do you re-read books?
Let me know in the comments!

As always, thanks for visiting Pivot Book Reviews! I wuv you!

  1. I've always re-read some books that I adore... the HP books I've re-read more than once, and other favourites, but in the last few years I've barely had time for re-reads! I'm quite happy with the fact that my book club has chosen The Raven Boys as the book for this month so I can re-read it!

    1. I really really want to read the HP books this year. Or at least, start rereading them! I read the first one when they first came out so it's been way too long! I just have too many books on my tbr shelf to just go reread all my favorites all the time unfortunately! But now, I'm trying to reread at least one every once and a while.

  2. OO how weird! I just posted about rereading this week! I tend to not, but I've wanted to start again. (I have read TFiOS more than once)

  3. I used to reread a lot more, but my TBR got so huge! I do love enjoying a reread, it is like an amazing second kiss!

  4. I'm the same way! I don't re-read books because I don't have the time for it. Although there are a lot I would LOVE to re-read! I did read Divergent again so I could finish the series, since it had been FOREVER since I read it and I forgot everything!

    1. Yeah, that's how I am too!! Like that's another problem I've been having lately. Since there is such a huge gap between release dates of books in a series and the fact that I read over a hundred books in between that time, I tend to forget what happens in the book before. Maybe that's another reason why I have a hard time reading the last book in a series. Have you seen that website, Recapitans? It's been a lifesaver since I discovered it!
