Waiting on Wednesday (11)

Wednesday, March 26, 2014
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking The Spine, where you can spotlight an upcoming release that you're eagerly anticipating!

This week I'm waiting on:

Dangerous Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
Releases on: May 20th, 2014  Add it to Goodreads!

From Goodreads: A new series returns to the world of Beautiful Creatures. Some loves are cursed...others are dangerous.

Ridley Duchannes will be the first to tell you that she's a bad girl. She's Dark. She's a Siren. You can never trust her, or even yourself when she's around. Lucky for her, Wesley "Link" Lincoln can never seem to remember that; quarter Incubus or not, his heart is Mortal when it comes to Ridley. When Link heads to New York City to start a music career, Ridley goes along for the ride- and she has her own reasons. As if leaving small-town Gatlin for the big city, trying to form a band, and surviving life with a partially reformed Siren isn't hard enough already, Link soon learns he has a price on his head that no Caster or Mortal can ever pay.

Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, the #1 New York Times bestselling coauthors of Beautiful Creatures, are back and casting another magical spell. Their signature mixture of mystery, suspense, and romance, along with a dash of fun and danger, will pull fans in and leave them begging for more.

Why I'm waiting: Uh, HELLO?! It's a spin off of Beautiful Creatures, which I'll admit I tried to read forever ago and couldn't get into, but I recently read them all and loved them this time around. My tastes are always changing! I can't wait to read more about Ridley and Link, and I really hope we will see other characters make appearances too! It sounds awesome!!

What do you think of my choice?
What's your choice for this week's WoW?

    1. I mean, I really disliked the third book, BUT I liked the new characters that were introduced, and I had to know what happened. I'm excited to read about Ridley and Link though!

    1. I think the reason I tried to read them again was because I watched the movie and unlike most people, I actually enjoyed it. But I wanted to see what everyone was complaining about the book not matching the movie much and then I just got sucked in!

    2. I saw the trailer of the movie with the bf and he asked me "is this one of your books?" and I was "no, these I haven't read". He considers me an expert on YA books apparently :P

  3. I never read the final book to Beautiful Creatures. The previous one was so off for me, I just never ended up buying it. Maybe I'll give it another chance.

In a completely unrelated note, I nominated you for this thing called a Liebster Award. Details here: http://thebrokebookgirls.blogspot.com/2014/03/liebster-award.html

  4. I'm looking forward to this one too. I listened to the Beautiful Creatures books on audio, so I'll probably continue that with this new series.

  5. Oh this is a great choice! I read the first in the series and loved it! But I haven't picked up the others yet, mostly because I'm trying to not buy too many books right now. But I really hope to finish the series!

    1. I'm glad I'm not the only one who seemed to have a snag on getting into it. I think it was mostly because I'm not used to reading books from guy's POVs. I love Link!! I hope it's as good (or if not, better) as the others!

  8. I actually didn't hear about the Beautiful Creatures books until the movie came out - which I actually really enjoyed. Still haven't read the books yet, but I think I need a trip to the library soon...

    1. I really enjoyed the movie as well! It differs a lot from the book, but I read the book after I watched the movie so I didn't really mind. I still like the movie! I'm glad I'm not the only black sheep that liked it! Haha! Go to the library, Amanda! Now, now, now! :)
